  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can someone provide info on the sybolism of cutting the bread into cubes instead of breaking the bread?

Sorry if I confused you. The priest breaks the bread and places it into the chalice; thus the bread is broken. The laity receive communion from the chalice and after that, they get a piece of bread from an altar boy holding the basket.

That's Ok, I must apologise for being one to "nitpick" the details.
But early on in life I found that it's often the small details that make the difference between Gospel Truth and False Teachings.

I remembered that I have this little Divine Liturgy book, and in it are answers to several questions in regards to the Orthodox Church and it's "ways".

It then goes on a bit further....but I do not feel I should post publically like this anything further than that.
