11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
(Jude 1)

14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
(Revelation 2)

What means this error of Balaam?

Take a glance at his story and think about it.

Kindness, dear brother. Kindness. People are free to seek answers to important questions.
Sorry, but if one wanted to know the 'error of David' (or Balaam or any other significant OT figure) and asked it on a public forum, it's not because they can't find the answer. It's because they don't want to bother looking. How many Bible search tools do we have?

Sounds like the response of a typical rude, RTFM Linux user.

I'm familiar with the OT Balaam accounts, and *I* wouldn't feel comfortable with making a quick and definitive declaration as to what constituted his particular "error," and even less so his "doctrine."

I use Windows, thanks.. And if the RTFM thing is an insult you probably want to remove it before the mods do. You don't have to have a degree in theology to find these answers. You don't have to post questions that can be answered by a search on the very internet you're using- in less time, in fact, than it would take to come here and post the question.
On the other hand, if it's a discussion, the OP might think to say that rather than make it sound like he's asking a question. There's a subforum in CS for that.

It does not really matter what the doctrine of Balaam was, the important part is that it was not the doctrine of Christ. We must stay away from all doctrines that are not of Christ. Today our culture holds to many doctrines that are not of Christ. Such as the doctrine of its okay to believe what ever you want or the doctrine of truth is different for every individual. Christ is the only way and we must stay away from all doctrines that say any other then that.

Your attitude is deeply troubling. I am thrilled to help people find the answers they're looking for. Google is a useful tool, but the net is filled with sources that are anything but reliable. Personally, I'm glad the poster did the right thing. He came into a safe, believer-rich environment to pose his inquiry. This contemptuous disposition of yours is truly mystifying.

What's more mystifying is your faith in Christian Forums to provide a 'safe, believer-rich environment'. If I had 50 cents for the number of times I've seen a wrong or unbacked theological claim or claim about the Bible here I would have paid off car insurance with it. If one cannot feed themselves they should be taught how to do it by others, not be fed by others.

"mixing" Christ with money. Like nearly all of Christianity does. With its (evil) clergy-laity system
A spot of evidence and clarity goes a long way to understanding what you're talking about.
