I seek to understand here. I'm not sure if the rules allow for something like this, but I'm going to try it anyway. I'm defining Protestant here as anyone who does not belong to a Roman Catholic or Orthodox church of some sort. I know some do not like this label, but just bear with me.
If you are Protestant as per the definition, tell us what your understanding of Mary is -- who she is, what she did, how/if she should be honored, what "all generations shall call me blessed" means, etc. Do not make references to Roman Catholicism or Orthodoxy; post only your own beliefs. I simply seek to understand where everyone is coming from from a non-reactionary standpoint. I should also add that Roman Catholics and Orthodox should not argue with anything said in this thread, however inaccurate you may find a given statement to be.
Mods: if this thread is not acceptable in this forum, please move it to somewhere where it is. Thanks.
