Well, that is what doctrines ARE. They explain how to do exactly what you have just stated. Or, would you consider everything in the NT besides Jesus' specific sayings in the gospels to be superfluous? The one core Christian belief is following the teachings of Christ, not following some list of doctrines.
Define "strong in faith" according to the new CF guidelines. There is no longer any definition to what that faith is, so "strong in faith" is now completely up in the air. Get my drift?

Correct, but until now it has been able to determine if you actually belong to the Christian faith in any form at all. And yes, I know there is no way that we can know the hearts of people, etc. etc., but it did require a statement of faith for people to be accountable to, and that's a faith that one can grow in. It is hard to determine any sort of strength of faith if that faith is no longer even defined.Ummm... this board has exactly and precisely zero power to determine the strength of your faith.
Guidelines and definitions are irrelevant.
The world is where your faith is tested and sharpened... this board is only a tiny, tiny part of that world.
And what would those teachings of Christ be? Can you tell us without using doctrine? And remember...as soon as you make a statement about Christ...you're asserting a doctrine!

Yes, I can make that determination myself, to a degree, but someone who is new to Christianity wont' have the foggiest clue. And that's what's dangerous.

This is true.True, but there is a time-tested remedy for that uncertainty -- talk with people. You can't trust icons. You can trust personal involvement.
This is a message board. I "talk" through the printed messages on it, and those include the known statement of faith, the icons, and then finally my posts. If you take those first things away, especially the statement of faith, you are left with just a basic message board and not a Christian one.True, but there is a time-tested remedy for that uncertainty -- talk with people. You are so comforting. You are my second place wanted "hug" in life, besides Jesus.can i know if a perosn who doesnt belive Jesus is a God and is His savior be a christain and have a christian faith icon here?
please let me know.
A Christian message board doesn't need a definition of a Christian, because each person has a different definition for himself/herself. There's no universal definition. This is a message board. And you just contradicted yourself. Because you stated earlier that we shouldn't be following doctrines, just the teachings of Christ. Now you say that I can interpret those whatever way I want, so why would it matter to you what my doctrines are?I know I'm asserting a doctrine then, but only for myself, someone else can honestly understand some teaching of Christ in a different way than me. No one is perfect, so there will be differences, and it's impossible to prove who's right. We can only get closer to the truth in a respectful dialogue between people who have different views.
Tell God that someday and see what He says.A Christian message board doesn't need a definition of a Christian, because each person has a different definition for himself/herself. There's no universal definition.

It seems so simple. But people continue to retard themselves.True, but there is a time-tested remedy for that uncertainty -- talk with people. You can't trust icons. You can trust personal involvement.
resignations - used to be a way to blackmail ...
anyway, bring on the anarchy for a few days
people learn fast when 'forced'
many problems on this site sprouted from the silly hierarchy,police/punishments and secrecy
the fears of popularity contests just show how little faith the mods do have in people..patronising till the end
What matters is whether we impose our personal or denominational doctrines on other Christians. And you just contradicted yourself. Because you stated earlier that we shouldn't be following doctrines, just the teachings of Christ. Now you say that I can interpret those whatever way I want, so why would it matter to you what my doctrines are?
