A couple of weeks ago my wife went to the family doctor because of a lump she felt on her right breast. When the doctor got the mammogram and ultrasound back he recommended her to a surgeon. I prayed constantly leading up to that visit, hoping that our Lord would spare her the surgery. Well, when we found out she would have to have surgery to remove some problems areas in both breasts, my mind questioned the Lord, and why I even prayed. Before we found out, I was probably overconfident that the Lord would answer my prayer. Because I felt bad for questioning the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ and God, I memorized I bible passage that I came across that night:

Romans 11: 33-36

Oh what a wonderful God we have! How great are his wisdom and knowledge and riches! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his methods! For who among us can know the mind of the Lord? Who knows enough to be his councelor and guide? And who could ever offer to the Lord enough to induce him to act? For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by his power, and everything is for his glory. To Him be glory evermore.

I found much peace in this passage.

Today she had the surgery. Before the surgery, she had to have a something done, needleostomy or something like that, were they stick a needle in to find a lump that is deep within the tissue. Well, before they could do that they first did another ultrasound to locate it. And praise be to God, they found NOTHING, NADA!!!! They still removed the lump out of her right breast, but the deep one on her left breast had disappeared. Thank you Jesus! She had worried about having to have both of her breasts done at once, this was a miracle that she did not have to go through that. When we got home, and she passed out, I got on my knees and wept, I mean bawled like a baby, not only for joy of the miracle, but also for the shame of doubting my Lord and Savior and the One and Only Living God.

Thank you Jesus!!!

God is great at miracles, even when we doubt. Remember what the one man said to Jesus when he was asked if he believed Christ could heal him: "I believe, but help me even though I don't completely believe."

God gives healing for his own purposes, not just because we want it. If the Lord allowed your wife to avoid this suffering right now, ask yourself why, why did the Lord bring the threat of suffering and why did he defer it this time? He has a reason!
