  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

On my way to the bus tonight, some guy came up and gave me a book with the 10 commandments in it and it also talked about Jesus. I said "thank you" and he left saying "its the ULTIMATE TEST".

Then I was just hanging around because I didn't want to get on the bus until the crowds were gone (I'd rather wait than be stuffed like a sardine in a bus). Well then I noticed the same guy was going around giving a lot of other people what looked like fake money. (I deducted it was fake money because I overheard one person saying "I wish this was real!"). The guy would just pretty much give it to them and walk away. I am the only person that I know of that got the little 10 commandments book. I was thinking about going up and asking him what that was all about but then he left and I don't know where he went. I think it might have been a psychology experiment or something because if he was trying to tell people about Christ, what the heck was the point of giving people fake money and walking away? I'm curious now and I don't know what it was about!

Have you ever heard of people doing stuff like this?

they probably had some sort of scripture on them. giving u the book and saying "it was the ultimate test" was probably meaning that trying to keep them was the ultimate test. Not always the best way to witness to people, especially if he was actually there and then walked away from people, didnt even have the decency to sit and have a conversation with them. U probably were one of the only ones who got it because thats the only book he had.

Frankly, ive seen more than one way to "witness" to people, everyone has their special tricks they try, and this guy was probably just trying to do a godly service by trying to save as many people as he could, which very well could have been doing just as much harm to the kingdom as good.

There is really no telling. If I were you, I'd read the book, and pray about it to see if it was sent from God.

Maybe the "fake money" was some sort of tract? I don't know.

Pray, and He'll guide you.

They have fake money tracts out there that has scriptures and a little blurb about Christ and salvation on them. I've seen people leave them lying around for someone to pick up thinking it was real, hah.

It's another way to "witness" to people, I don't know how effective it is, but I've seen it done.

Yeah I remember those fake money tracts. Probably what it was. I used to be a server in a restaurant and occasionally people would leave those on the table. If they tipped well it was no big deal but if they stiffed the waiter or left a lousy tip (church people in my town were notorious for that) it was really a counter wittness to what they were trying to accomplish.
