  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pretty... Lol but how did you manage to swipe shots of so many animals? Us city slickers just don't understand... We're lucky if we see squirrels.

I guess there's just a more laid back way of life down here in the south... even with the animals. I was actually very surprised by the coyote shots. It was only about 25 yards from the road and never moved, even after i drove away. And i'm surprised that the cattle didn't chase it away.

No, that is right. I don't think they still do that AWANA theme song anymore, though. I haven't heard it the last 5 years when I've worked in AWANA. It makes me a little sad.

Fun, fun!

We are going fall hiking tomorrow. All these pics have me even more excited about it! We are hiking about a 13-mile stretch that goes alongside of a creek. I heard fall foliage was at its peak there right now, so it's going to be gorgeous. Plus we've gotten so much rain lately the creek and waterfall should be flowing nicely. AHHHH SO EXCITED!!!

So my local newspaper published this photo in today's paper and they posted some of my other photos in a gallery on their website My mom encouraged me to submit the photos so I did as a fluke at about 9:00 pm last night and I was stunned when they published one!

Nice photo! A lot of newspapers are encouraging user-generated content, especially since staff numbers are dwindling. I'm sure a lot of the stuff from readers won't be very good, but your photos seem on par with many professional photographers.

Well, our hiking trip was quite interesting. We had to ford a creek thigh-deep about 1/4-mile into the hike and again on the way back. The water was freezing. Both of us fell on our butts on slippery rocks and I cracked my tailbone. I made it for 9.75 miles but my BF carried me piggyback for the last 1/4-mile. We found a nice dress hanging on a tree in the woods (2 miles from the trailhead), and scattered here and there we also found various bits of clothing, shingles, a pair of shoes that were a mile and a half apart from each other, and other things. All we could think is that perhaps a tornado had come through. We also saw two wild animals that we couldn't identify--one of them seemed to be some kind of a wild cat-like animal. The waterfalls weren't flowing as well as I had hoped but it was still pretty and the leaves were starting to change. The light was pretty bad for picture-taking, but I tried anyway.

You can see by his pants legs how deep the water was.
















A barn...just in case you couldn't figure that out on your own.

Latteda, sorry to hear about your tailbone. I'm glad to hear your boyfriend helped carry you along the way... how nice.

Ps. That tree..... I almost want to take my thumb and straighten it out! (As if I could! )
