We went to scout out reception halls with Kirk and his Mom. This is at Embassy Suites; Mom and I had an appointment with him earlier this week and he told us we could come back and check out the room's wedding reception setup Friday. These couples (two twins are marrying twins!) used balloons for centerpieces but we are probably going to use mirrors and candles.
This is the same room a few weeks ago when I spied on another reception at Embassy Suites... this is what it looks like when they've dimmed the lights.
^Those people didn't mind paying $5 a chair and $20 a table to get special linens. Yikes. No thanks.

My church's fellowship hall, another possible place to hold the reception. Pro's -- free. Con's -- Not a lot of space for the number we're inviting, can't have alcohol, can't have music on the whole time because of Saturday services.... But... freeee....

Holiday Inn... this is one of their rooms but we couldn't see the reception room (it was occupied)... basically it would look pretty much the same except a lot bigger and different setup

Melissa - cute as alwaysI love the moms-turned-buddies, that's so awesome (and important for the future!) I also love your church, it's gorgeous. I love the big windows and the roomy feel. I hate churches where the sanctuary has no windows...I like seeing outside.
