I really used to like metallica, they claim not to be satanic, and i believe them, but a guy next to where i live who was satanic mutilated 9 year olds. police said he was under their influence. I've looked for an alternative, but most christian metal bands sound more satanic than metallica ever did. Plus none of them really sound like metallica.

Help me guys, give me suggestions or bands

Metallica isn't satanistic, they are just lusers. They use to rock out till about 1991 when the black album came out. That was their last good album. Now days they are just trying their best to make money. I think they really angered some people with the Napster suits... oh well.

By the way, this should be in the secular music forum, not musicians...

I agree. Except for the live album with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, they haven't recorded anything worthwhile since the black album. As far as satanic lyrics go, you can misinterpret the lyrics of almost any band any way you want to if you try hard enough; Metallica just happen to be an easy target because they are extremely popular and play heavy music.

The secular or CCM forums would be a much better place for this, methinks.

But regardless, look up Kreator, Megadeth, Vio-lence (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but only if you can stand Killian's vocals..), Exodus, Destruction, Sabbat, or Death Angel. Good stuff.

All secular bands, though. If you're specifically looking for Christian bands, feel free to ignore this post.

I totally dissagree with that. I listen to Eminem and other Rap artists, and yet Metallica is my favorite ROCK band. THey are awesome, i agree Black album is one of their best records, but i dnt think they are doing it to make money now. I should ask my die-hard Metallica friend about that hehe

Patdoggydogg, unfortunately you wern't around back in the day when Metallica rocked. The stuff they put out now is a sad shadow of what they were at one time. I think that St Anger has gone on my top 5 worst albums of all time list. I thought it was very funny that when St Anger was released, the radio dj comes on after the song and said "You know, this radio station only plays the best music in the tri-state area... therefore, I will never make any of it's listeners go through that torment again..." I just cracked up
