  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

  1. They Believed in Jesus Christ

I am reading in John 4:1-30. It is a very long passage so I will summarize some of it and I will quote some of it. Jesus Christ, on his way to Galilee, had to pass through Samaria, but not just because of geographical reasons, but because he had a divine appointment with a woman at a well...
  2. God's Word Will Not Return Empty

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will...

  6. I Count it All as Loss

“But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in...

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 ESV “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 8. He Has Taken Away the Judgments

  9. He Came to Transform Us

The apostle Paul was in prison for at least two years. At one point, King Agrippa arrived in town. Festus explained Paul’s case to him, and then King Agrippa said that he would like to hear Paul himself. So, the next day Paul stood before King Agrippa. And the king gave Paul permission to speak...

Acts 9:1-2 ESV “But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.” Saul, later...

Do Not Be Deceived 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor...
  12. A Fountain of Life

Proverbs 14 (Select verses) ESV 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving. 9 Fools mock at the guilt offering, but the upright enjoy acceptance. 10 The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy. 11 The house of the...
