As this year of 2011 comes to a close I once again find myself in this meloncholia of Isolationism. Not being a part of the world I can not and will not celebrate with the world things of this world. But I am always and ever grateful to my Lord Jesus that He it was who called me out from the deceptions of this world with all of it's custom's and traditions.
For many years since I first found out that Christmas is nowhere to be found in the pages of the Holy Bible have I slowly weaned myself from that tradition of men. It has been one of the hardest undertakings of my life but something that had to be done in order to Honor Jesus as He would have me to do. In fact, neither Jesus Christ, His Apostles nor the early first century church ever celebrated the birth of Jesus at any time. So why do we?
In fact the only 2 times that a birthday is ever mentioned in the Bible are both non Jews/Israelites who alone celebrated their birthdays as all pagans do to celebrate their birthdays in the worship of Me, Me, Me!!! No where in all the Bible do we see any instructions from God concerning the Celebrations of birthdays. And no where in all the Bible do we see any examples of God's people ever celebrating their own birthdays at all. If God ignores such pettiness then why should humans put such import into such a vain day.
In fact we learn from Ecclesiastes 7:1...
"A good name [is] better than precious ointment; and the day of death [better] than the day of one's birth."
What an odd sentiment from the 2nd wisest man ever to walk on this planet. Surely if there were anything noble in birthdays God would have inspired some one to write something in the Bible about it. For if anyone's birthday is worth a celebration it should be the birth of Jesus Christ. But the only day that we are commanded to observe from the mouth of the savior Himself, is the day of His death and nothing what so ever is mentioned about the day of his birth, not ever!
Yet year after year "Christians from ALL around the world celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ on December 25th??? Most of them even know that December 25th is not even the true date on which the Lord Jesus Christ was born on. But they accept it as a token day because no one really knows on which date Jesus was born on. They claim that they are only honoring his coming to this world to die for our sins. But would not that honor be better place on the date of His death rather then the date of His birth?
For all the excuses and reason's for the season that "Christians" think up of to celebrate Dec. 25th there is one inescapable conclusion that just can not be ignored. And that is that Jesus was not even born anywhere near the winter season because the Angels announce the birth of Jesus to simple sheep keepers who were on the hills tending to their sheep on the night when Jesus was born (Luke 2:8).
Now I would like to point out that it would be bad enough, especially for the animals to graze for grass through the cold snow capped hills, but in the freezing night??? Which is to say that if Jesus were born in December then those shepherds were not only crazy, but just being plain cruel to their animals as well. This was not the case however, but God inspire this about the shepherds to be placed in the Bible for our edification; To know that Jesus was born in a warm climate and not a cold one.
This being the case then is it not a lie to celebrate the birth day of the Messiah on a day in which He was not even born on? Is not partaking of a lie the same or even worse then lying itself? Why would any one want to participate in a lie? Why would any so called, "Christian" ever participate in a lie?
The devil is referred to in John 8:44, as the father of all lies. Jesus himself said this and not I or anyone else for that matter. And anyone with even a little common sense can tell you the definintion of the word, "Lie." It is an untruth or an inacuracy of the said discription. That being the case then, "Christmas" for all intent and purposes is a lie. Nothing more then a big fat lie because Jesus was not born on Dec. 25th.

Jesus said that he is the "Truth" and the "WAY!" There is no other way to get to the Father except Jesus way. The truthful way.
As True Christians, Nothing should be more important to us then doing things the right way, the truthful and honest way. That is what God wants from his own dear children; That is what He expects and demands of us. Forsaking all lies and useless shameful traditions and customs of men that do not honor God but shame Him with the lies that we who call ourselves "Christians" pretend to honor God with. It is a shameful thing to God when we say that we honor the God of truth, with a lie!
