Just got to thinking....when I read this one thread of what hell is like....
Wanna know what I think..?? Here's my take on this:
When Lucifer/Satan became pride filled and wanted to be God (Isaiah 14:1-21), Satan didn't create hell. It was God who created it just for Satan and his angels. He created hell as a place to put Satan there away from heaven and all things holy. I don't know if He really intended hell for those who died in their sins before, during and after Christ came. But I DO know that hell is a place of no return. Hell is a place of eternal damnation. Hell is a place of eternal seperation from the love, light and holiness of God. Hell is spiritual DEATH. Why would anyone wanna go THERE?!
How could anyone think that God would send anyone there? He didn't send us there, WE did! Our bodies are temporary, but our spirits are eternal, and where we chose to put our spirits is when we die, is either heaven or hell. Our spirits, being dead in sin and seperated from God, can only be that way unless we understand God's escape plan for us: Jesus. And until we believe that Jesus is the way out of going to hell, an escape from eternal death/seperation from God, we will still remain in sin and seperated from God.
And it amazes me how people could have missed that escape plan, so simple, so wonderful. They misunderstood, it's not freedom from physical hell; it's freedom from SPIRITUAL hell. Why die TWICE? You die in sin, that's ONE. You die again in eternal damnation and seperation from God~ that's TWO!. Whoa! Hence the escape plan from God: accept the gift of eternal LIFE through His son, Jesus, receive God's mercy and forgiveness and gain salvation and be sealed in His spirit for all eternity! WOO HOO!
