With two small coins in vicelike grip
Within his God blessed hands
He started on his virgin trip
To near and far off lands
Would Jesus truly help him now?
Sanction the way before
Before his head and knees could bow
The Wind shut tight the door
He stood amazed as though struck blind
Collecting random thoughts
But then a verse came swift to mind
What Heaven’s Word reports
Again he stood as though quite dead
His face seemed drained of blood
Just two small copper coins, he read
And then he understood
Offering first the coins on High
Considering The Way
He heard God’s grace would multiply
Within a single day
God said to knock a certain door
The Word was prompt obeyed
Giving the coins the one he saw
He heard this accolade
“Come in my house and take a pew
This church has long been blessed
The pastor of these chosen few
Has gone to endless rest
With love you followed each command
By faith God’s word you keep”
Then Jesus said with beckoning hand
