In my state there is somewhat loose guidelines for social distancing with no penalties if you are closer that 6 feet from another person. And face masks are really only a suggestion, rather than an enforced mandate. I live out west in a somewhat rural state.
Talked to a lady in New York City the other day and of course there, things are enforced fairly tightly and I happened to ask her if crime was down and she of course said “yes”. So, we can all find some good in our present situation, instead of concentrating only on the bad effects.
Individually, we are really playing an odds game with this corona virus. A person could wash their hands repeatedly and even wear gloves and put on a mask when they go out, but all it takes is one tiny misstep to catch the virus, I heard recently that we can even catch it by our shoes. We bring the odds down when put on , what could be referred to as PPE’s, but there is still a small chance that we could contract the virus and of course spread it to others.
All the more reason to trust God in this. Instead of living in a state of relative paranoia and fearfulness we should Trust God as some point, and find a sense of Peace. I think the best formula for this is to respect the chance that we could be spreading the potential virus to others, but our own lives and our own health is purely in God’s Hands.
