The Way of the Cross is the Way of salvation. There is no other. When Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me! John 14:6 He meant if anyone wants eternal life, if it is only through his example and following it! Luke 9:23-24
So what is the Way of the Cross? This blog post will be 1 out of three, culminating in receiving the Holy Spirit.
Step 1 - Die on the cross
Step 2 - Get buried
Step 3 - Rise to new life!

REPENT!!
Repentance is the step where we get on our cross and die to our old life!
Romans 6:10
When Jesus got on the cross and died, he forever changed the game! His former self expired for sure, never to be again. This is the meaning of the Cross.
To die to the former Way of life. Sin has no more power over those who have died to it!
Romans 6:6-7
This is the very definition of repentance. We realize we need to make a change, that none of our works or strivings will save us, and we turn to God for salvation!
Ephesians 2:8-9
Romans 7:6
This is the message that inaugurated the new covenant!
Mark 1:4
John came to set the stage for Jesus! His mission was ordained by God, Luke 7:30, and it set the tone for the one who was to come!
Jesus was the one to come. His message was no different than that of John's or even the prophets of old!
Mark 1:15
Today, people think of Jesus as someone who would lounge about with sinners and just let them be. But this is not the Jesus we read of in the Bible. Sure, he was compassionate and merciful, but there is not one place in scripture where Jesus told a sinner they could continue their lifestyle. He said, Go and sin no more!
Once Jesus got on the cross and ascended he gave the Apostles one message to preach.
Luke 24:47
Acts 2:38
Acts 17:30
Even Paul, the great apostle of grace preached repentance!
So get on that cross! Sure it will hurt, but the glory that will be revealed in it will far outweigh anything else! Romans 8:18
Step 1 in true salvation is to repent! Change the way you act and think (GOD'S WORD translation). Die on the cross with Jesus! Galatians 2:20
