I cant fully understand his English. His accent and pronunciation are barriers at the moment. He's kind of shy and anxious but I can relate to that.
I can imagine the more judgmental in the Parish may dismiss him as useless. His lack of confidence a real turn off. And why cant we have a priest who speaks proper English!
But I made an extra effort to listen to his homily this morning. And gradually I saw the beauty, the depth of faith, the incredible love he has for God. It was awesome! Parishioners will gradually grow to love this guy. And when his confidence improves, he will be dynamic!
There's a lesson in this for all of us. God works in the apparently weak. If we feel weak, maybe that's a good sign. More room for Him to move in!
