The Predictable Atheist

Most of you will have realised how predictable atheists are. Whatever you say, their mantra is "prove it." Whatever it is, proof is the only valid means to establish a fact.

In everyday life, we do a myriad of things, including atheists, without any proof whatsoever, especially when we buy something.

For example, if you go to the shop that sells apples and you pick some to buy because a sign says tasty and juicy, you do not have any proof that they are. Because the owner of the business says that the apples are tasty and juicy is not proof. That is an opinion as I have found out many times when buying fruit. When I have got them home and started to eat one they were anything but tasty and juicy.

And what about buying a car? Again, there is no evidence that the car is what the salesman says it is or will do what he says it will do, not even a new one. You will soon find this out if you buy a lemon. So you are in fact buying the car in faith including atheists.

Going on holiday? Only faith will give you the evidence you need that you are going to get there. There is no evidence that the plane you are on will make it. OK, the atheist will say I have plenty of evidence that I will make it because of all the planes that have arrived at their destination.

The flaw in the argument is that you are not flying on all the other planes. You are flying on this plane and as we all know the fact that other planes and even this plane have made it to its destination is no guarantee it will make it to its destination today.

So the fact is, atheists are having to use faith to operate by every day the same as non-atheists do.

That being the case, why is it they have such difficulty in exercising faith in God when every day there is evidence that he exists? I can list a hundred things that prove God exists but they are things that cannot be seen by those who don't want to see. it is like giving a tiger a dead lamb and he walks away from it because he doesn't believe it is a lamb.

I believe the real truth is that atheists are not interested in evidence. What they really are interested in is not allowing God any control over their lives because their god is me, myself and I and that is the biggest barrier that anyone can have to prevent them from encountering God.

Actually, I did say to an atheist one day, "You don't want evidence you want an argument."

His reply was "Of course I want an argument."
