All of mankind since the Garden has put themselves under the curse of self, self interest, self determination, etc. Each of us, regardless of upbringing, will follow our animal nature which is of course to look out for self first to survive. Man has simply by personal choice decided to take this a step further and take advantage of others for their own gain. In other words all of us are self made models of imperfection, but with the ability through the understanding of the knowledge of good and evil, we are able to comprehend rectifying the situation by focusing on caring for all others rather than simply self. We in the process, have removed our will from the equation and put God's will first in loving all as ourselves. Repentance complete.
