The Bleeding Wounded Lamb of God by Greg Gordon

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! – John 1:29

What a wonderful word this is to hear. Look away from yourself. Look to the Lamb, for in him is all of life and hope. Look not at your struggles or strivings but to his wounds. It is him that bears your sins even now, look to him and be free. Trust in what he died for you, the Lamb of God blessing on the cross. God himself shed his blood for you, he came and emptied himself so you could be filled with him. He has paid the ultimate price so you do not have to. He has paid the payment of your great sin debts. Look, look to him who is the only hope for you to find peace and rest in this life and the life to come. Jesus the bleeding lamb on your behalf. See his eyes wounded yet whole, he died for you, he lovingly looks at you. Only God could offer the right way for us to be made whole and freed from our sins. John the Baptist here testifies of the only hope for religious men, business men, men of the world.

The Moravian Church was a re-birthed continued lineage of an early persecuted group of Christians called the Unitas Fratrum or Unity of the Brethren. Much can be said towards this Church and its powerful influence in spreading the Good News of our Lord. A church historian Craig Atwood says of the Moravians, “According to Zinzendorf, the Christian church was born on the cross when the body of Christ was pierced by the centurion’s spear and blood and water poured out. The church must remain grafted into Christ in order to remain a living church.” This bleeding Saviour was not only suffering mystically for believers but starting the actual physical church with his physical blood being shed. He takes not only away the sins of the world but is establishing a called out people bought by that blood who will walk in godliness. A people who not only receive forgiveness of sins but the life of God so they can walk in the victory of their Lord. Nothing is more important nor significant then a bleeding Lamb on a cross. Do you see him?
