Suffering

Lord God,

I hear the cries,
I hear the anger,
I hear the despair.
I hear the suffering

I know the heartache.
I know the pain.
I know the helplessness,
I know the suffering.

And yet, in its midst,
I see the courage
I see the hope
I see the love

For You, O Lord,
Still exist in the middle,
Of everything that is
What we call suffering

For You have a plan,
Even for the suffering
To use for our own
Good and prosperity

Therefore, today Dear Lord
We pray for those
Who are lost as they
Walk in suffering

May Your grace,
And mercy abound.
May Your love,
And strength never falter.

Restore their lives
Restore their peace
Restore their faith
To walk with you each day.
