  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Splitting Hairs Instead Of Worlds

Seems to me if it doesn't involve politics, it is of little interest to most people. Without politics in Christianity, or any other religion for that matter, and people seem lost. Seemingly blissfully unaware that politics or man's ideals have no place in Christianity (or at least Jesus' version of it). One cannot discuss Jesus' scripture without realizing it is about world of man against Kingdom, man against God, not man against man. So human politics play little part here, for though they oppose each other, they are of the same system, both living by the sword. The Kingdom opposes them all.

On the other hand, if a section of the world of man calling themselves Christian made up of various squabbling tribal faiths, wants to come and oppose the Kingdom while saying Lord Lord, well then by all means have at it. Perhaps in the end, if pride is not too strong, they will end up switching allegiances. Difficult no doubt for many, being trained of nations putting themselves not only above others, but the Kingdom also.
