wow. I can't believe Barack Obama won the presidency!!!! The results came so early last night. i was still doing my homework lol.
Last night I just watched Obama's victory speech and went to bed. But now it's starting to sink in. i know that Obama did not want his campaign to be about race but it's so exciting to witness a man that came out of no where to becoming the first (half) African American president of the US. The whole situation for me was bittersweet because I wish my grandad, who lived in the South and faced discrimination, was here with me to celebrate. I know he would be crying like many of the elderly African Americans. It really makes me smile to know that the trials and tribulations of some of my ancestors has paid off.
I'll admit that I do not agree with all of Obama's policies, but i find it offensive for people to say that America is in trouble by electing him. We have given almost every president a chance to show whether or not they were meant for the job. Why stop now? This man will have a huge mess on his hands and the best thing to do, whether you support him or not is to pray.
