In my first post, I briefly described the welsh revival that broke out in wales over a hundred years ago. This revival was incredible and was marked by a deep sense of conviction and repentance in the lives of sinners and saints alike. I’ll be exploring the welsh revival in greater detail in later posts.
The welsh revival was birthed in hunger and from what i’ve studied about revival’s in church history is that most, if not all revival’s, have been born out of a deep longing for God’s presence, for His Glory!
In 1995, two years before I gave my life to Jesus, another great revival broke out. This time in brownsville, penescola. This revival, it is reported, saw over 2 million people give their lives to Jesus, over the period of five years. It was charactised by a deep sense of conviction and repentance. It was preceded by a longing and hunger for Lord’s presence, for His Glory.
John kilpatrick, was the pastor of this Church, at the time this revival broke out. He would later say that for about two years previously, he would find himself crying out to God, for revival. He testified, that he desired nothing more in his church, but the presence of God. He didn’t want a personality or a program or just a good church meeting, all he wanted was God’ s Glory and nothing more would satisfy him.
How hungry and desperate are we, the body of Christ, for God’s glory. Let’s seek His face and through seeking His face, become aprehended by His incredible glory. Just one touch from the king of glory will cause us to turn Him in repentance and cause us to be forever changed and transformed, from glory to glory!
