Jesus says "Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven" Matthew 7:21
A lot of people who claim to be "Christians" think that claiming the promise in Romans 10:9 will be enough to get them into heaven. Now while we all must certainly do this, there is much more to it.
When we "confess the Lord Jesus", we are confessing the "whole truth" of who Jesus Christ is and that "whole truth" is that He is the great "I AM" and that we must "die to self daily" and take up our cross and "follow Christ". Now this is not to say that we must become "Quakers" and cut off all ties to the outside world, but we are called to be "holy" because God is holy. It is vital to our spiritual well being that we have a daily and active relationship with our Lord, our Savior, and our God Jesus Christ through prayer and supplication.
God desires for us to have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. In 2 Peter 3:9, he tells us "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance"
May God bless you as you learn and grow in Him.
