With tears in my eyes I was blessed to finally see the faces of my great grandparents . Both of whom were slaves. A distant cousin graciously sent a picture of the two of them that my mother had not seen in over seventy years. Mother remembers seeing these same pictures as a child. We were all thrilled as a family.Knowing that any sucesses we have had were built on the foundations that these two strong hard working former slaves laid.
Today as I watched the Democratic Covention nominate the first African Ameican as President of the United States ,I felt those same tears of joy well up in my eyes. I thought of how unbelieveably proud my great grandparents and grandparents would have been of Barak Obama.
Congratulations Mr. Obama and God Bless you and God Bless America .
