Text: Psalm 25:1-5, "Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day"

The scripture Proverbs 3:5-6 gave us one of the most powerful admonitions in scriptures, 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths'.

It’s probably the most powerful scripture on trusting in the Lord from the Bible, yet the most powerful book to consider when it comes to the subject of TRUST IN THE LORD is none other but the book of Psalms. For in the bible the word TRUST was used in the KJV, the direct translation of the Bible from its original language, 134 times and about 50 times out of this was found in the book of Psalms!

Other related words on the subject of TRUST also includes TRUSTED which appears 28 times in the bible and of the 28 use of this word 12 was found in the Psalms! There is also TRUSTETH which appears about 17 times in scriptures, and 8 of which appears in the Psalms. David was a man who trusteth in the Lord probably more than any other man who has ever walked on the surface of the earth. His writings are clear indications of this! In Psalm 34:8 he gave his own sweet advice, a scripture which believers love to quotes today, "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him".

And there is this Psalm I love to read in Psalm 20:7, that says others may trust in chariots and horses but we will remember the name of the Lord. Add to this the classic advice in Psalm 115:9-11 where Israel was urged to trust in the Lord, "O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield. Ye that fears the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield". Today the Help of God is coming for you! Amen!

All of these beautiful Psalms must have robbed of on Solomon, David's son and that made him gave that advice in Proverbs 3:5-6, "just trust in the Lord with all your heart and your life will be settled" (paraphrased mind).

He must have read today's text in Psalms 25:1-5 where David prayed the prayer of trust, "O my God, I trust in thee, let me not be ashamed and let not my enemy triumph over me". And God did answer's David's prayer and delivered him from his enemies! He will do for you today! There is no shame to those who trust in the Lord, this is no spiritual cliché, but a daily reality of those whose heart is set on God!
