People We Have A Problem!

Problem: There is no fear of God
In fact, when you bring it up in (Christian) circles you will be met with opposition. With things like, ‘well, Christ has died for me and I no longer need to fear Him, for He is love.’ I ask, is it not because Christ has died for us that we be a God fearing people?

Many are spoon fed from man centered teaching and preaching that omits the truth of the Gospel and the truth of His word in scriptures, so we have a breed of people who do not fear God who propagate their opinions as doctrines. This kind of teaching is born out of a SELF entitlement mentality where the words fear the Lord are skimmed over, foreign and despised. It is a kind where there is fellowship among each other, but not with God. There is a knowing about God, but the knowing not Him. Therefore there is no cultivation in the understanding of the fear of the Lord.

Manifests as: No accountability – no responsibility There is no desire to seek holiness, to strive to live set apart from the world. There is no need to hate sin, because ‘Jesus has taken care of it for us.’ There is no cost to this kind of believer – no giving, just taking. While this is not to be confused (and often is) that no man can earn Salvation but it rather is an attitude of worship towards the God who is a consuming fire in awe and reverence in the realization of who He is and who we are and need of Him.

Outcome: a deceived, sick, weak, lazy, dying group called Christians living changeless lives. This group has instead perfected the look of religion and work on building the outside of their tombs – so it looks well pleasing to each other. While they decay inside, denying the power of Christ to enter in as they walk in arrogance and pride against the Living God. Matt 23:27-28.

Answer: Beg God for the understanding and need for the fear of God! Put to task a search with diligence and commitment in the study of the scriptures: We have tools at our fingertips to help us in our task such as Bible Gateway, punch in words like ‘fear God’ ‘fear of the Lord,’ in the search bar and study Proverbs, Psalms where you will discover what scripture says. For the fear of the Lord must be learned. Search out and listen to Godly preaching and teaching, an example of a some listed here; Last Trumpet Blast, David Pawson & , Paris Reidhead.

Result: You will have a people who will worship God as a lifestyle – not as an event.

The outcome of a people who possess the fear of the Lord, will be one who understand and practice obedience, strive for holiness and realize they are nothing without God. To fear the Lord is to draw nearer to Him – they go hand in hand.
