Peace

Oftentimes when we hear that word, we think of the peace that comes after a war between nations but what about the war that goes on inside us, in our minds?
"Peace of mind", we hear those three words alot but what is it worth to us to have it? Do we persue it like we pursue material things? Should we? How important is it?

Ask the man with bleeding stomach ulcers.
Or the woman with high blood pressure whose had 2 heart attacks.
Or the single mom with the minimun wage job.
Or the man with 3 small kids whose lost his job.
Or the bitter and frustrated people who do not believe that dreams can come true.
Or the woman who can only get 3 hours of sleep per night.

The peace of mind which cannot be moved by any circumstance (please notice that I did not say that it denies that the circumstances exist) cannot be found in alcohol, marijuana (or any drug), cigarettes, gambling, food, a husband, wife, children, grandchildren, fame, money or even good deeds.
While it's true that these things may provide temporary solace, some longer then others, are they really producing the result that we're seeking them for, especially when some become addictions? In the case of addictions, where the human body cannot function properly without its "fix", does it not mean that we now have the exact opposite of what we first sought after which was relief from stress or a good feeling?
Is there a person in the world that could not use the peace of mind that is described above?

Isaiah 53:5
But he (Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of OUR peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Galatians 3:14
To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit.

Galatians 5:22 (Amplified Bible)
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness

Luke 8:48 (Amplified Bible)
And He said to her, Daughter, your faith (your confidence and trust in Me) has made you well! Go (enter) into peace ( untroubled, undisturbed well-being).
