Our Light

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. John 12:46-47

Being born again doesn't just mean getting to heaven. It's a beautiful thing to know that dying on earth means being together with our precious saviour and we get to finally see and experience all the amazing things heaven has to offer. Everything we have heard about it, we get to finally be a part of and enjoy. What a great thing to look forward to.
However, besides that, we are still on earth. Back to basics basically but how is our 'Basics' different from the person who's not come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What is it that we have been saved from? Why is the great commission so important that it's referred to as 'great'.
Life in Christ Jesus means knowing what to do and when to do it ( at least when we choose to be keen on what He says). He refers Himself as the light. I can't count the number of times I have decided to walk in the dark trying to get something and hit my toe or knee!! That piercing pain is never erased from my memory so every time I am in the dark I try to find some type of light source to help me maneuver the room I am in to get to what I was looking for in the dark in the first place.
Same thing happens to many of us who have been FREELY given a light, scratch that, THE LIGHT, and choose instead to stumble through life without Him. Jesus hasn't asked us to purchase this light, it's freely available to all of us who believe. In all we do, no matter how minute it may seem, God should be our first point of reference. Or better yet, He ought to be the originator of the path we are to take. It doesn't matter how many times we've done it before. But many times, He's often the last resort after all our efforts have proven futile.
The Word of God is true. When He says in Psalms;
"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Ps 37:4
What does delighting in the Lord mean to us? Is it doing good things so that He can bless us? Or should it be doing HIS things(will)? Contrary to what many may think, God is not stingy. He's not trying to withhold things from you. He is more than willing to grant you your heart's desires. But where is your heart? Is it set on God or on what you think He can give you? God desires to have a relationship with us. Us seeking Him is where it's at!! As you walk in the path that God has set out for you, following Him not any other THING, we will first of all be fulfilled because our first call IS to worship Him. All,other things shall follow. Let Him guide you. Let His light be what illuminates your way. Any other source of light WILL fail. It will go out.

For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
Ps 18:28

You're blessed!!!
