It seems to me that many think repentance will lead to change (which of course it does) and that they will have to give up everything if they no longer comply with society and nation, thus having to live in a cardboard box in an alley... which is silly.
Many, in order to overcome this misconception, use God to justify the deeds that they do, claiming change is impossible for man and God will sort it out later, thus fooling only themselves and those like them which of course make up a goodly number of Christians who try to have it both ways.
Hard to love neighbour as self when supporting those who serve self at the cost of neighbour. No one said it would be easy. However the society of man is not the focal point. It is wise to remember it is the result of the fall.
