What is there to fear from sitting quietly, doing nothing? Well, to many Christians, this is the same as joining a coven. "Wait!" you say. "Where in the Bible does it say mindfulness?" Okay. Where does it say depression, stress, Prozac, psychotherapy, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, sexual abuse, etc, etc, the whole swamp of misery that many of us live in, and sometimes we find that spouting verses is simply not enough!
So what is there to be afraid of, to let go a little bit?
WHAT HAPPENED TO FAITH? If it seems like a good idea, pray to Jesus. You'll get a sign that it's not right, if it's not right. Ask God to steer you away from mindfulness practice if it is in fact sinful and non-Christian.
DON'T YOU REALIZE that faith and prayer can guide you in ways where the Bible falls short?
That's what I have to say on the matter.
