God has said ever since the Garden, not to put our will ahead of His. We are too selfish to control using our own will. Jesus did what was required of Him, but He also said He came to share the good news of the Kingdom (as are we commanded) and to do His part in bringing it about. That good news of God coming to take authourity away from man is often overlooked because people want it both ways, salvation and not being seen as outcasts in this world built on selfishness. We like our authourity over each other (even if we don't like it in others) and this is our downfall.
