I grew up as a cradle Catholic and attended Catholic schools most of my childhood. I think idealism is part of being a Christian. Its there in the Bible and in the Catechism. Try to be like Christ. Follow the rules, the commandments , especially the "love" ones.
But my personality is predisposed to being discouraged and disappointed if I don't reach that ideal. And of course I don't and never have. At times I've thought "I'm not cut out for this Christianity thing. It's too hard"
Some of you will say ' All things are possible with God". I'm not convinced of that statement yet. Otherwise I'd be a famous artist by now.
