I am the type of person that reads and examine a lot of things and I always hold these things up to the word of God.
This is my first blog so here goes.
I was reading a very interesting blog concerning why Christians are hated. What I saw was amazing to say the least. There were people who were atheist that posted and Im cool with that. What I didn't care for was the typical stereotype that the atheist said about Christianity.
As a Christian, my job is the preach the gospel. Just like the Apostle Paul stated he didn't come with eloquent speak. God is the One who convicts a person of their sin. Not me. I don't need to do that. The Word of God has enough power in itself to do the job that I cant do anyway. That is what the purpose of the Holy Spirit is for.
Now we are to do all things in love and sometime when the Word of God hits someone we need to remember, it is not us that is hated its the Word which convicts of sin that is hated. We are just vessels for God to use.
He said it rains on the just and the unjust alike, which to my understanding that God is fair in His dealings with all humanity.
God is not as affected by those who don't believe in Him as we think. No God doesn't like it because He desires that all men be saved, yet I believe because of God and His wisdom already know that all men wont be saved. Nevertheless, we as Christians still have to preach the Gospel. If a person listens, that's fine and if they don't want to listen, never take it personal because God already knew. Yet if you think about a person rejecting the Gospel, the seed has been planted and that's all God really needs. One plant, one water but GOD gives the increase. Jesus already stated what would happen to His followers in the book of John Chps 13-16. So when a person ask me about Christ or try to deny His existence, I don't argue. That action is not walking in love. We are to be different from those who don't believe, not think that we are better. In the book of 1 Pet(I think, I don't have my bible) it states that judgment begins in God's house first and if its hard for those who believe in Him to be saved what will it be for the sinner man. Again in Romans chp 11 it states the following: we(those who are not Jews) are ingrafted branches into the Olive tree. I am paraphrasing this: we are in the tree by faith and should not boast about it. We are save by grace through faith and nothing else. Jesus said whosoever will. Just because I believe in Christ doesn't make me any better than anyone else and God has shown me enough through the Holy Spirit to always remain humble in His Presence. I am very thankful to God that He did rescue me from my sinful nature which always gets me into trouble. My job as His daughter is to trust Him, face difficult situations with His help and to PREACH THE GOSPEL!!!!!
