Unforgivness and Shame.

Many people in this day in age come to God, asking for forgiveness. Believing in their heart that God has truely forgiven them.
But what about yourself?? You have acknowledged that God has forgiven you and alot of people come to actually accept that, but they burden themselves by not forgiving themselves.
I am going to be honest with you, not only does this feel absolutly horrible, am I right?
But it can also be dangerous as well. Guys I hate to tell you but we are in what is called a Spiritual war between two very real Kingdoms. This danger I speak of is something that has crossed my life many times.
Unforgivness towards yourself open yourself up to the Enemy.
The Enemy loves to force this unhealthy guilt on us and He uses it against us because we are unable to forgive ourselves of our Sins. This unforgivness and depression can cause serious depression, stumbling blocks in your relationship with God...It can even cause the enemy at some point in peoples lives to actually want to kill themselves. It can happen and has happened.
Jesus did not give His life for you so you can deny yourself forgivness..
He came so that we may recieve forgivness of our sins. But it is very important that after we confess our Sins that we forgive ourselves and cut satan from this hold he has on you.
The first step in forgiving ourselves is understanding and coming to a realization that whatever we did (whether they were thoughts, saying something wrong, hurting someone by accident, sinning against God or our loved ones and so forth) That whatever happened it is done.
Thats right, there is absolutly nothing that will change that it actually happened. And we need to let the guilt that comes with this go. Its the only way. Accept that you may have screwed up and move on with our lives. Hanging onto guilt is not something we should do.
It is definitly something that God does not want...
Sometimes when we want to get rid of something we physically want to do something with it right? we just want to take it and throw it away or just put it somewhere else..not in our lives anymore.
You cant do that with this can you? You cannot physically throw it out.
First things first, personally I have had huge problems with this and I have let it come between me and God and that is something I cannot have. I love Him too much and I know...That God loves me. He doesnt want me to bare this guilt on top of me. He wants me to forgive myself just as He forgives me.
Humble yourselves before the Lord and speak to Him about this, open up your heart and tell Him that you no longer want to burden yourselves with this unforgivness,shame,remorse,guilt....
Ask Him to give you strength.
Get up, grab a notebook (I often times pray in forms of writing) Write down everything that happened and how it makes you feel. Give it some details, you need closure!
At the end of all your writing, I want you to write down how it is over and there is nothing you can change as to what has happened. It doesnt matter what it is.
Write down a prayer at the end of it: (If you dont believe in God I suppose you should skip this
Heavenly Father, I have Sinned and have made err in my life. Please forgive me Father for I have fallen short. I confess and I turn away from my mistakes. I have this guilt wavering over my head and I have been unable to get rid of it...until now. I accept your forgivness Father and I praise you for it.
I now forgive myself of my wrong doing and now accept in my life that what was done is now finished. I am forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Satan I now release you from this stronghold that you have against me. Get behind me Satan I plead the Blood of Jesus Christ. You no longer have power and hold against me!
(say this part outloud)
You can now do either two things with this paper.
1. Find a box fold it up and seal it inside. It is no longer a part of you.
2. Destroy it. it is now done!
Forget what has happened. and accept it
