God has a sense of humor. I know, it may not seem likely to you, considering all the things He has to deal with, but it's true. He's a lot more accessible than you think. You just have to dedicate yourself to listening to Him and following His word, and you can learn how to hear Him.
Anyway, He was talking to me one day about something serious, and I agreed with what He said, and then He said, "Okay, now, listen." And I expected something important. And He said, "You will go to the Dagobah system." I sat there for a moment thinking, "did He just say that?" And then I started laughing. I needed that. (It's a Star Wars reference, in case you don't get it.)
Another time, I felt I had spent too much time asking for stuff, so I ventured to ask God how things were going for Him. The answer came back: "Oh, fine... the clouds need mowed, but that's about it." Once again, it took me a minute to fully get the joke, but it gave me a good laugh.
My third example shows a bit of ironic humor. I was tired and rambling in prayer, and somewhat unfocused. I can't even remember what was on my mind, but for some reason I started to ask Him, "When are you going to--" and before I could finish, I heard "June." The irony being that I'm not even sure what I was asking about... so I can be sure that SOMETHING is going to happen in June... I just don't know what. That's cool. I know all things work together for good
