Hide and Seek

It's been entertaining, watching all the carrying on over at another site, about me. I know they're checking in here, because they just can't tear themselves away. Now I see that things have been blocked at that website, ostensibly so I can't see what else they want to say about me. Hey they can do that, and I'm not complaining about them doing that. Whatever. It's a free country (for the most part). If I want to, I can find it....

I've got a little proposition for the trolls and other self-important crusaders. Leave me alone, and I'll do the same. You're entitled to your opinions, but purposely defaming someone because you don't like what they say, or agree with their theology, is not a right. Hounding them, trying to make their life miserable with threats, falsehoods, and outright hatred, is immature, juvenile, and unChristian. The only thing I've ever been guilty of is defending what I believe in a forum where those things are discussed. It wasn't me who started making emotional comments, attacking the poster rather than the post, and causing the conversation to devolve into a food fight.

And, contrary to what you trolls and other malcontents think, I do not "rule" or "control" the Soteriology Forum (or any other forum on CF). I do not have mods, supervisors, oir admins at my beck and call, to do my bidding, nor do I have any input into the decisions they make. If you were banned, it was because of your own actions, your own posts, and your own failure to follow the rules of the Forum, and the site. To hold me somehow responsible for your own failings is a cognitive disconnect of the first order. I'm not the one with a problem here.

I am willing, and would welcome, a rational thoughtful conversation with any poster who wishes to discuss Calvinist theology, provided they can keep the emotionalism out of it, and not resort to false characterizations about Calvinism, trotting out worn out old tropes such as "robots" and "fatalism". If you're sure that Calvinism is wrong, and are unwilling to be corrected or to be enlightened about it, then we really have no basis for discussion. I will not be convinced by falsehoods, wrong information, or the bluff and bluster of someone who thinks that they're "on a mission from God" to "destroy" Calvinism.

Bottom line is simple: enough of the hounding, troll attacks, defamation, juvenile pranks and threats. I'm not giving up, and I'm not giving in. I will stand with Martin Luther: "I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me God."
