Heavy Hearted (December 14, 2005)

Now by no means am I discontent with God or my relationship with Him. On the contrary, I feel the passion that He instills within me grow whenever I get the chance to speak of Him and the amazing things Christ does in my life. My heavy heart is for different reasons, one is for the endless battle I face with loneliness in this world, but it struck me the other day that I am now battling a new and carry with me an added loneliness. It hit me hard the other night as I was walking around my apartment in tears thinking of my walk and how I have no one to share it with or no one to walk with in Christ's light. Then I started to think of people that I know and how through their actions, they don't stand for God or seek Him daily. These people that I love do not seek the face of God because they are ruled by this world, they love to partake and run back to the same sins they commit over and over. They are just that, committed to sin, but not to Christ their Savior. They go to church, speak of God from time to time, they call Him Lord, but is He really the Lord in their life? or are the agendas, the right here right now, the mindless things of this earth that offer nothing in the end, these are their lord. My love for these people grow daily, and with love comes pain. To try and love in the way Christ desires us to love isn't all about running through fields holding hands, it's about facing challenges and overcoming the demons in our lives so that we may love what should be the ONLY LORD in our lives, God the Father.
Why don't we seek Him fully? Why aren't we running to the finish line to jump into God's arms? Why have so many people become content with the distance between them and their Creator? How often do you pray and how deeply and sincerely do you pray? To what level have to given yourself to Him? with your mouth or with all of your mind and all of your heart and all of your strength?
I challenge all of you to stop just saying that you love the Lord and make Him exactly what He is in your life. Not just a lifeguard to help you in troubled times, but a Father and a friend, spend time with Him, open up to Him, trust in Him and most of all, love Him. Show it in your prayers and in your actions. We walk day to day with His name written on our hearts, so honor him and show the world that you love Him without hesitation and unashamed. Spend time with Him in the good times and the times He blesses you.
I ask Him myself to help build my faith and that when I pray to Him awesome things will come of it. I have been a product of this world for so long that when I pray for something to be done, there is that small part of me that is like, "I hope," or "I think you'll do it." He can not bless something like that. People believed that if only they could be in the shadow of one of the disciples that they would be healed. A woman believed that if she could just simply touch the clothes Jesus was wearing that she could be healed. It's faith like this that we as followers of Christ need to have and to believe in. Scriptures say that faith of a mustard seed can move mountains, but I tell you, I don't know anyone with that kind of faith, but that isn't a welcoming mat for excuses. I desire and pray for that kind of faith, to know that I can pray in the name of Jesus Christ and a small child is healed, that a persons faith is restored, that a revival will sweep across this nation and across this world. That every nation, tongue and tribe will profess the name of Christ Jesus. I desire to know who my creator is before I meet Him, I desire to walk a life like Jesus, simply because I love them and believe with all my heart that they love me.
