God Will Do A New Thing

Some go to church a song to sing
Some sleep within the fold
But God will do a brand new thing
The bible’s not foretold

Then arms will rise mouths open wide
Refusal will be heard
“We’ll only do what’s long been tried
Or written in the word”

God’s Spirit shares His point of view
The word can kill man dead
But Jesus comes with life anew
To whom the truth has led

For God reveals His plan to us
To man He’ll share His word
Yet many churches make a fuss
And say the truth’s absurd

Inside, they’re stagnant, weighted down
Burdened, with laws of man
Traditions have come to wear a crown
That turns from Jesus’ plan

To these! Christ’s only in the book
He’s not alive today
Why don’t they come and take a look
What God has now to say?

For those who sit at Jesus’ feet
Who of The Truth would learn
The Lord makes these His choicest wheat
But chaff He’ll surely burn

The time has come to walk God’s way
With open eyes to see
Something new may come today!
Setting His children free.
