  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Earth Day

Today is Earth day it coincides with Good Friday this year. Earth day is always on the 22 of April. It is Good Friday that changes yearly. I just say this because I read on another Christian board a poster who seemed to have an issue with this.

Earth day is a day to remember that we need to respect the earth and take care of her and all her other creatures that call her home. God gave earth to us to take care of in fact all Adam and Eve’s jobs were to take care of the earth and God’s other creatures. Of course we should remember to take care of the earth 365 days a year but there is nothing wrong with setting a day aside dedicate to it. Just like we should take care of the needy year round not just think of it during the holiday season. Earth day is not about worshiping the earth.

Its also really important to recycle, reuse and reduce. I have come across Christians who do not seem to care to do this. Their reason why when God will just make a new earth. To me this is not the mentality to have it does not matter that there will one day be a new earth. This is the earth we have now and we must take care of it until God makes a new earth. No one but God knows when the world will end it could be next year, 20 years, hundreds or yes even thousands or longer.
