Conversations with the wall

Today I arrived at work way too early, it was ridiculous, instead of arriving at 8am on the dot for my phone shift, I arrived at 7.21am, which makes it a lil awkward when all the work you need to do is pending on people who aren’t in until 8.30 – 9.00am. So I am basically just going to be sitting and staring at the clock for then next four minutes.

I read a friends blog last night and it was something with meaning, a serious topic, and I thought maybe I should give some insight into my thoughts. Read if you dare lol.

There was a discussion on Friday night relating to the “credit crunch” and how the world is going broke sort of thing. I usually tune out to those sort of discussions, since its mostly the same stuff being said over and over again by different people. But one thing I did hear that I thought was really interesting – travel is not suffering by the current financial crisis. People would rather live on staples, then give up their holidays to Europe. I thought that really interesting, makes me think of when I was working at Coles, and customers would complain about the price of food all the time and tell me they couldn’t afford this and couldn’t afford that. I remember as I was scanning their fancy foodages and placing them in a bag all professional like I would be thinking, “maybe if you give up your 60,000 car and foxtel and that PDA Phone that costs you 300 dollars a month, you could afford food.
You know what I noticed? It was the rich people that were complaining about the prices, and the people who were really struggling to buy the basics were just toughing it out…there’s something wrong with this picture…shouldn’t the financially weak be the ones protesting? Not the ones that spend 50 bucks on shampoo and conditioner? They are all crying cos they cant afford to get their acrylic nails redone, when the person behind them couldn’t afford to buy bread. Its just not fair.

I would like to give my opinion on a topic that ive noticed on blogs and forums the world over…homosexual marriages. I know Im a Christian, you probably know Im a Christian. I know the bible says that homosexuality is wrong and all of that. But you know what? I don’t have a problem with it, and I cant stand all these judgemental people who harp on about how they are gonna burn in hell blah blah blah. My heart says its ok, and you know what, Im not sorry about it. The core of my being is yay for gay. Even if I wasn’t all yay for gay, its not my place to tell others how to live, Jesus came to guide us in our lives and if people chose not to go that way then fine. After all, it’s a choice that God has given us. Though I do not think that the majority chose to bat for the same team, how can they help how they feel? Today its all about being true to yourself and being who you are, how can you be who you are if people tell you that what you feel is wrong? They expect you to change, to be like them, yet they don’t expect us to turn gay. I did say I was a Christian, doesn’t mean Im a good Christian. I know that a lot of friends and Christians I talk to would totally disagree and pay me out about it, but I don’t care. I believe that I feel what I feel for a reason.
