Oh and I'm really sorry for inconstantcies where I said Claudia looks Charlie's age then now she's Ranger's age (who looks 25) and how Claudia (through different stories) has like five different accents, stuff like that. I just fail at improv writing sometimes. I'm gonna be more careful but don't be afraid to point out stuff.

Not long after conversation stopped they arrive at the address. It was an apartment complex. They walked in and up to the counter. Miguel told the attendant that Claudia was looking for her son Ranger. The man was a normal looking guy, but as Charlie had said, way too happy. Maybe he's right, maybe there is something wrong here. The man nodded and said he's on the top floor in the private apartment. Claudia didn't quite understand what made any one apartment more private than the others but didn't question it as Miguel lead her to an elevator. They got to the top floor, like all the buildings it was insanely tall. Miguel noticed the shiver that ran down Claudia's back when they passed a balcony, looking out over the city. "You okay?" he asked.
Claudia looked at him and nodded "Yea fine. Just I don't like heights."
Miguel nodded then stopped in front of a door. It was the door the attendant had told them to go to. Miguel knocked on the door, a moment later it opened to reveal an Irish man. He looked at Miguel in confusion but when he saw Claudia it registered why Miguel was there. Standing face to face with his mom but looking only five years younger certainly wasn't something he would have expected. Ranger blinked several times, as if trying to remove a hallucination from his vision. "Mum?" he had a slight Irish accent but for the most part sounded american.
Claudia nodded "Been a while eh?" she asked.
Ranger grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. "I've been so alone. Ever since Harmony died..." he trailed off, a tear running down his cheek.
Claudia rubbed his back with her right hand and just left hand rest on his back. "Shh" she quieted him, as if he were still a little boy. "It's okay, I'm here now."
For several minutes they just stood there, hugging, while Miguel walked over to a balcony, letting them be alone for a bit. Ranger pulled away and asked "What happened to you mum?"
Claudia shrugged "I don't know really. After I went into that coma I was just gone, then I woke up a little while ago and met Charlie and Miguel" she pointed to Miguel when she said his name "and they said you were still alive. I just don't know how."
Ranger smiled "I'm more like you than you thought?" he suggested.
Claudia shook her head "The mutant gene is passed down from the father, your father wasn't a mutant."
Ranger shook his head "No, but he wasn't a normal human either."
Claudia shuddered at the thought "So what happened to you Ranger?"
Knowing his mother didn't want to talk about his father he went with the change of conversation. "I went on with life, kept Harmony safe but there wasn't any way to reverse what had happened to her. One day I went home and she was laying on the ground dead. Bullet wound to the heart, but she didn't do it. We never did figure out who it was."
Claudia frowned "I'm sorry."
Ranger gave her a sad smile "So are you and Miguel?" he asked.
Claudia blushed "No, I just met him! I only woke up a few hours ago."
Ranger chuckled "I see...well I was about to go get something to eat. You two wanna come along?"
Claudia nodded "Yea, that'd be great."

Wow so naturally as i type that last line I think "dude i should have had Ranger be affected by the thing that makes everyone happy and he wouldnt remember Claudia." but that would be far too tragic and not fit else where. actually this is mostly improv so im not worried about it fitting. ah well
