Well, the waiting is over. She died while we were at church this morning. We found her in the basement, apparently she'd been trying to crawl under the couch at the time because that is the position she was in. So we all had a good long cry, some final pets and kind words, and then put her in a box and had a burial in the back yard. Kids are going through the box of pictures right now looking for their favorites. This morning she and I had a little back-and-forth meowing thing that she was always very good at. Kind of like saying goodbye or something. Then she crawled to the basement and stayed there.
