Lord, why does a soul grow weary?
Life’s joy, seem fast asleep?
Why grow some churches so dreary?
Life’s flock they fail to keep
Is the truth, no more a treasure?
Life’s facts considered true?
Surely, this life’s not all for leisure
Why else would there be You?
You are the reason for living
For everything the cause
Creator forever giving
Life’s everlasting doors
Can the mind of fools not waken?
Ignorance, cease to be
Can measures in life be taken?
A blind lost soul may see
The fact, the truth, my God is real
Jesus, Your Christ, is true
Your Holy Ghost, life’s Promised Seal
Life’s Guarantee is You
Open, my God more sightless eyes
Give ears to souls in doubt
Grant wisdom, those believing lies
To know what life’s about
A test of faith, of trust unique
A pilgrimage, of grace
In search of what few people seek
Beyond both time and space
How blessed am I, to know my King
My Saviour’s guiding voice
Privileged salvation’s song to sing
