I had to break the news to my Teddy Bear today. I had to tell him he was adopted.
He took the news better than I expected. No tears. Of course he must've grieved later in private.
Teddy has been a big part of my family, since we have no children of our own. There's Rumpy (short for Rumplestiltskin), our goergeous Corgi/Kelpie cross. Getting on in age. He will be 9 this year but still the spirit of a child which I just adore. He goes to the same park each day with me but by the look on his face , you would think I was taking him to Disneyland for the first time! I haven't told Rumpy he is adopted either. I don't think I will. It would shatter him!
