A List of things to do besides sitting in front of my laptop

I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms but hey, that's totally fine. It's expected. I am going to survive. I don't need to refresh my facebook, instagram, Youtube, Twitter page constantly:

Dear
Houston me,

I have a problem. I think it's time to live in reality. Let's face it. Your entire day is spent pretty much in front of your laptop, save for when you need to use the washroom and eat. Living the life, right? I feel like my life is lived in a virtual world instead of being present in actual reality. How do I spend my time on said virtual reality? I spend it on social media sites that really don't add to my quality of life-unless I stumble across verses or devotionals that happen to speak to me on that particular day. Aside from that, I am starting to wake up from this trance and I'm starting to realize that I am wasting precious time that can otherwise be put into the present moment of reality. So here is a compilation- a list that may or may not be updated with new ideas of how to fill up my time with things other than the internet. Oh and yes, the conviction was strong today. If you're also feeling it, perhaps you may consider cutting back on the net/phone. My hope is that I'll be able to actually go a few days without logging onto my laptop and just enjoy life outside of this LED screen:

(Disclaimer: these are ideas that I have already done/am interested in doing/are doable for me and they may not resonate with you, which is fine because after all..this entry is solely directed at me. )

1. Spend time with God ♥

2. read books- this may seem like I'm just delving in another 'virtual world'..and you're right. Sorta. But I thoroughly used to enjoy reading books before my internet addiction. I guess the key is to set some time aside to read instead of reading the entire day. Combining reading with making a warm mug of chocolate/tea is bonus. Combine that with sitting on the deck outside? Over 9000.

3. Clean your closet, your room, the entire house.

4. Take your best friend out and just hang out, go to the movies, the mall, cafe, restaurant, bowling, rollerskating, pretty much a girlfriend date.

5. Go ham in the gym. And by ham, I mean..ask the people at the front desk how to use that weird-looking-contraption AND THEN go ham. For 10 glorious minutes.

6. treat yourself at the cafe or better yet, buy boxes of tea and a huge thing of hot chocolate and save money and enjoy it in the comfort of your home!

7. Bike ride! When the weather's warm.

8. Walk around the neighbourhood.

9. Garden

10. Volunteer at a soup kitchen/shelter/animal shelter. Seriously, I think volunteering would be a great way to meet new people, make friends, conversation, and lend a helping hand

11. Visit the farmers market (supporting local food, ftw)

12. travel to new local places

13. Cook new food!

14. Participate in a local Church ministry.

15. Donate clothes

16. Flea market.

17. Cook something for a friend or surprise your family with a new recipe

18. knitting/crocheting-can't find wool/yarn/cashmere? Just go to the salvation army or value village and find a sweater to unravel and recycle.

19. to be added onto, perhaps
