Ok so technically this is going up on the 13th... I've had a few life experiences in the past few months that have left me feeling... "empty" spiritually. (for lack of a better term). I know God is always there to listen and my prayers don't go unanswered. Long story short a girl I went to school with and who lived in my neighborhood was jogging on the beach during the 4th of July weekend and was struck by lightning and was killed. She was just beginning her life; she just finished college and was going to work with mentally challenged children and wanted to continue studying to get her Masters. Also on Friday the 11th while at the firehouse we got a call for a stoppage of breathing. Turns out an older gentleman had fallen off of a roof and hemorrhaged majorly and died within minutes. There was another significant life event that I don’t really feel like mentioning publicly, however it along with the tragic losses of the two people mentioned have shown me the need to be more spiritual. I want to live life as a better Christian. I know God will guide me through this and in the end I am hoping to be not only a better Christian but a better person in general.
