Alrighty. So I did it, and I got baptized. I survived. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was still pretty traumatic, but I am more comfortable with water now. I was shaking the whole time. I did get water in my cast. It took about a day and a half to dry out. It doesn't stink nearly as bad as I thought it would. Not that I have made any serious effort to smell it because I haven't. So I made it. I thought I did pretty good. I was freaking out pretty hardcore, but the pastor and the associate pastor were there, and Danny baptized me. That was good because I wanted him to do it originally, but he didn't want to step on the pastor's toes. So he wasn't going to. But then the pastor suggested that Danny do it (we think because of my fear of water). It all worked out really well. But the pastor and the associate pastor were there supporting me. I held onto the pastor's shirt like it was my only hope. Danny gave a speech that was WAY too long. And down I went. And up I came. And out of the pool I went!!!! It was weird because when I got in, my leg was floating. And so I forced it down so I would have it to balance, and it started bubbling. Like the farting under water bubbling. I wanted to scream ' I'm not farting! It's my cast!" but I didn't.
So they helped me out of the pool and we sat there trying to get the water filled trash bag off of my leg. We finally cut it off with scissors and assessed the damage. It was pretty dang wet. So I opted to skip the women's pool party that was to take place afterwards and sat there while people took pictures with me. I got to be baptized after my friend Jan. That was cool that we got baptized on the same day. Which happened to be my 10 month anniversary of being in Texas. So that was really cool too. And my other friend Stephanie wanted to take a picture, so I let her take a picture. And gave people hugs. Then we left.
And now we have a pool. A really big huge freaking pool. I guess this is God's way of helping me get over my fear of water. Interesting choice of method if you ask me, but of course, He didn't. So yeah. I imagine that probably sooner than later, I will be purchasing a swimming suit and venturing up the ladder into this huge, gargantuan pool that will be sitting in our yard. That will be an exciting day. So, that's the major drama going on in my life right now. On to music talk...
Danny and I have been working every Saturday on our music. We have gotten a couple more songs almost done. All we have to do on them is lay down the vocal tracks. Then we will be able to write some more. I am really looking forward to that. I love to write. The whole process is really incredible. It's very invigorating to me. It completely refreshes me. I love it. Also, we have been practicing with a couple of people for a gig on the 4th of July. Danny was invited to play bass with them and they've been having me sing harmony for them, but we don't know if they are going to have me sing for them during the performance yet. That would be great if they did. Then that way my face would be out there for the people to see so that when I start sending out my music to the local churches, they'll be able to at least recognize me. So it's definitely good.
Anyway, it's quite late, so that's all for now! Ciao!
