Let's say you were asked to fill a half hour radio slot with your own playlist. They don't have to fit together, the only requirement is that you enjoy them.

Personally my list would include;

  1. Soap and Skin: Marche Funèbre
    Because it's such a hauntingly beautiful song.
  2. Birdeatsbaby: The Trouble
    I adore the fact they don't rely on guitars to provide the instrumental backdrop, the instruments don't fade into the background and mesh beautifully with the vocals. That's my opinion anyhoot.
  3. Natalie Merchant: Ophelia
    The vocals are beautiful, starting off quite soft and rising up half way through to match the song journey.
  4. Animal Alpha: Most Wanted Cowboy
    A bit of a change from the previous choices, a lot thrashier and shoutier.
  5. Boney M: Rasputin
    It's such an upbeat song, full of inaccuracies but one of the only "cheese" type songs that I could listen to on repeat.
  6. Radka Toneff: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
    She had such a wonderful voice and I believe this song suited her beautifully.
  7. Big Red Button: Let The Old Ways Die
    It's been a favourite of mine for a while now, I adore how she sings the lyrics and it has the basic beat that always gets me interested in a song.
  8. Mumford and Sons: Little Lion Man
    I just love the song.
And that goes over half an hour :D

So come on, what songs would you pick and why?
