Please help me out...I am trying to find a better format for my Sunday School classes. I don't want to make huge changes, just for the sake of change, but what we have been doing isn't working so I would love to see what is working with others. Would you please quote the following and answer the questions for me? Bless you all!

How large is your congregation?

How many children do you minister to?

How many services to you have?

If you have multiple services, is children's ministry different or the same for each service?

What is the format and timeframe for your Sunday School program/s?

How many volunteers does it take to run this program?

What is working and not working about your format?

Thank you all for taking the time to help me with this. I am trying to not grow weary in the task, but need to find a way :idea:to do things better. Blessings!;)

I work with several different churches who served from 20 kids to 300 kids

Some have two services some have one service

One of the reasons those with two services use the Sunday Plus curriculum is that it provides a different format but covers the same concept and scripture. The Weekday gathering does the same. Along with gathering for mom and dad and a take home curriculum for mom and dad to continue teaching what was begun at church.

The philosophy of Sunday Plus is to get the entire church involved, at one level or another, in the discipleship of the children. Thus we use Disciplers, who are with the children every Sunday, and Specialists (Story Specialists, Craft Specialists, etc.)who rotate. It takes more people but they are easier to recruit because they serve according to their giftedness. Feedback from the churches is that they really like this use of servants.

The overall Sunday Plus philosophy is much more than this - you can see it all at the website - I'm not allowed to give you the link but if you type in Sunday Plus it should take you there. Then go to the Curriculum page for a description of everything. By going through the sample curriculum you will see the format.

We are working hard to make the curriculum deep and at the same time engaging for the kids. We use a tool called Reality Learning that helps the kids to internalize the truth that is being taught. Had a note from a pastor just this week saying he can't believe how much more the kids are grasping the truths.

Hope this helps - would love to interact with you off of here if I'm able to help you. My passion is Child Discipleship.

How many children do you minister to?

Approximatley 200 (Birth-6th Grade)

Curriculum is the same but each teacher puts their own spin on it to make it interesting and fun for kids who attend both services
